Thanks for the quotes. Here's something for us to contemplate with regards to the second quote.
What are we noticing? What are we being mindful of? We can be noticing of external/outer events in the physical world, but is that kind of mindfulness going to help progress us/society?
Being in the scientific and information age, many things have come under the microscope and we have certainly made great technological advances. But as a society and as humanity, have we really advanced? How does the news headlines of today compare with those 30-50 years ago?
With the way our mindsets are, do we really know what is important for us to keep our focus on? When we die, will we have left the world a better place?
If not, then with all that we are mindful of, what is the use?
